Plant-based protein is more popular than ever before. Given our growing population, food security and environmental concerns, it should be!
But not all plant-proteins are the same.
Consumers are asking important questions, such as:
- Is the plant genetically-modified or non-genetically modified?
- Under what environmental and agronomic conditions were the plants grown?
- Once harvested, how are the plant materials handled (transportation, processing, packaging)?
Prairie AquaTech has a Certified Grower's Network and natural fermentation process to address these important questions. Our fermentation process concentrates the things we love about plants (small, easy to digest proteins), and eliminates the more challenging elements (complex, difficult to digest sugars).
We have developed high quality enhanced plant proteins and everyday products from the sugars that we extract. Our vision is to find the best uses for every part of every plant and leave the planet in better condition than we found it.
Prairie AquaTech has a pilot scale biorefinery with the capability to complete fermentation scale-up from 5 liters to 5,000 liters to 200,000 liters. We have upstream and downstream processing capabilities, such as aqueous extraction, solid / liquid separation, and drying technologies to apply our process to other plant-based proteins.
Our proprietary precision fermentation process can be applied to a variety of plant proteins. Our research and development team is actively pursuing partnerships and applying our technologies to other plant-based protein sources including dried distillers grain, canola meal, pea protein and barely protein.
Several peer-reviewed publications highlight the positive impacts of these plant-based meals.
